In 2022, Patrick act­ed as sole arbi­tra­tor in an ad hoc arbi­tra­tion involv­ing Malaysian par­ties in dis­pute over their oblig­a­tions to main­tain indus­tri­al machin­ery financed through fiqh- and sharia-com­pli­ant ijarah agree­ments (Islam­ic financing).

He has also served as arbi­tra­tor at the Inter­na­tion­al Islam­ic Bank­ing and Finance Arbi­tra­tion Com­pe­ti­tion (IBFAC).
